Gonzo go, or how I stopped worrying and learned to love the Blog

This guest post is by Enzo f. Cesario of Brands flat.

"We were halfway between Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take."

It was certainly not the rule that Rolling Stone from sports and politics columnist Hunter s. Thompson expected. He sent to Vegas to report on a motorcycle race, and instead sent back a manifesto on the hollow glory of Sin City, the assorted joys of half the psychoactive drugs common to the American vocabulary, the shortcomings of the journalistic lifestyle, and of course the death of the American dream. Hard against (okay, slightly past) his term, Thompson resorted to pulling out rambling posts from the pages of his notebook and them in direct mailing. It was unprofessional, it was sophomoric, gonzo was — and it worked. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was a hit.

Opinions vary on just why it worked. I think it was because Thompson uncensored was writing. He wrote openly about issues that still American sensitivities shocked. In the same year that the phrase "war on drugs" would first be devised, he stated boldly the incompetence of the politicians and the police who would be prosecuting. He mused about the death of the ' 60s-style revolutionary zeal, the illusion of a freewheeling city Vegas maintains about an undercurrent of hard-earned decency and so much more. He wrote honestly and not themselves, even the management of comment that the original assignment, to cover the race motorcycle, confused and bored him.

He Had written the same things today, it would have created a series of fantastic blogs.

The world is full of boring, sterile writing. A blog's strength lies in its ability to personal, and her ability to work at any time. Get on, login, pontificate, click send and it is there, ready for the reader. People read blogs for the style for the content a whopping — they want to know how, what, as well as the blogger thinks. They can show up for the content, but they remain for the personality.

Personality is where Gonzo thrives. Asked about the format, Thompson said, "I don't get any satisfaction from the old traditional journalist view:" I had only relates to the story. I gave it a balanced view, ' "and" you can't be objective about Nixon. "

Well, that sounds like political blogging for me. There is nothing wrong with the fair, but sometimes you need to be able to say, "the leading candidate reminds me of the worst qualities of my teachers math and science program — boring, dry, inaccessible and rambling about topics I couldn't care less about while ignoring the ones I was interested in."

So put that style in your blog. You don't have to put in a gin-soaked journey through your chosen topic-in fact, there are very few writers who can actually write well while drunk (Thompson happened if one of them). No, what I am talking about is writing something raw and uncensored.

Let your inner Lion to play, writing part of you that says, "I absolutely don't care what people think about this piece," and go to town. Write hard — presenting your worst advice, the strongest how you feel about things. Not set out to shock, just set out for absolutely honest in a way that people can not fault for soft-pedaling or go easy on the subject.

Secondly, not edit. This may sound like sacrilege to the profession of writing, but it is a good tip if you want to write. The content to the battle, writing in a stream and let your subject go where it wants. Try the first-person story that Gonzo makes this a joy. Sink yourself in the story. What do you think, feel, want out this piece? Get that feeling, these essences down on paper.

Writing can be fairly difficult. "It Is brandable? It Is also different? It will generate traffic? " I'm not going to lie: ask "is it safe?" is a deeply ingrained part of our way of looking at the world, and there is nothing wrong with that. We want certainty, and there are legendary stories of a bizarre and wacky change allowing someone to shoot a good career in the foot, never to be heard of again.

But much more is the story that you never hear, of the person who writes two entries, get discouraged and never made a different word. Or the countless thousands who say "I want a writer, but" and let whatever comes after but to keep them from ever picking up the pen and bring form to their thoughts.

So do. Go nuts this once, write something ecstatic or satirical. The conventions for a little skip and reinventing your writing, just to keep your readers on the edge of their seat. I have news for you: you will not write the following American manifesto, so now that you know that you are free to write a really nice, snappy piece of blogging content that your readers talking.

And maybe you can even do it on a road trip to Barstow.

The secret of the popularity of Blog

This guest post is by Ankesh Kothari from SuccessNexus.com.

Psychologist Antonius Cillessen of the University of Connecticut wondered how children became popular. So he began research into social behavior and peer relations of early adolescent children in American schools. And he found something very interesting.

He found that each school had a bunch of very friendly children who is socially accepted and loved by everyone. But they are never considered popular.

Copyright mango stock-Fotolia.com

The children that are considered popular are often just as friendly as universally loved children, but with a difference. The popular kids draw a border around them, and a few "outcasts" exclude from their circle.

Professor Anthony found that you can not popular unless you learn to exclude. He stumbled upon a truth that Chinese philosopher Confucius who years earlier had described:

"Small community to build and thousands will want to join."-Confucius

The truth is that a high-end clubs also have realized. The harder they are excluded (men) from their premises, how popular they get. Facebook grew when Friendster and other social sites don't. Why? because of their first exclusivity — should only people with a .edu email address to sign up.

Apple. Rolex. Rivendell cycling. All of them are insanely popular because they are just one type of audience targeting and exclude.

If you make your blog popular, you must also learn to exclude. You don't have to cater to everyone. Only by creating exclusivity you can the crowd noise for what you offer.

Decide who is your ideal reader. What is their one attribute that you above all value? What are their quirks. What they love? What they hate? (Or if not hate, what are they indifferent?)Draw a border around yourself based on what your ideal reader likes and hates. Write posts on certain topics and catering to exclude a certain group of people.Let the world know (your about page or your sidebar) that you are excluding and why.

I used this process to create a sense of exclusivity around my own blog. The first thing that I did when I started was to focus on who would be my ideal readers. I zeroed in on people who would take action without making excuses, and that already have achieved some success and are hungry for more.

I know that if I grow my readers blogs can help, my site will automatically grow. And so I just wanted to concentrate on readers who are willing and able to put in the work to do and grow their blogs.

That's why I about the exclusion of two types of audience that slow or inconsistent when taking action aimed at:

Beginners: people who just don't have the skillset or the resources to carry out things and take action.Hot News chasers: people who get excited by any new shiny thing that comes out and wasting their time jumping from one thing to the next.

On the about page of my blog I clearly mention that the above the audiences are not welcome.

The added advantage of this explanation is that the my audience for my taste polarizes. The beginners and hot news chasers go somewhere else. Meanwhile, the action-takers will not realize that there are a lot of fluff on my blog, and subscribe in higher numbers.

How can you become popular? Simple: not everyone.Target the right people. Do not write for everyone.Mention on your about page: which topics you will never cover, and those people who you will never meet.Be picky and selective, and your fame and influence will grow.

Have you tried this approach on your blog? I would like to hear your opinion about it in the comments.

RAMIT Sethi: I Will Teach You to earn money (In 6 steps)

This guest post is by Michael Alexis, producer of WriterViews.com.

They thought that I cared about making $300 or $500 a month. Honestly, I didn’t give a damn about that.
– Ramit Sethi, iwillteachyoutoberich.com

How many of your readers tell you that you have to monetize your blog? Do they call you crazy when you don’t? After three years of giving away free content, these are the exact comments blogger Ramit Sethi was getting from his readers. So, he surveyed his audience and from the results started developing systems and processes to monetize. After all, when you call your personal finance blog, I Will Teach You To Be Rich (IWTYTBR), you have a lot to live up to.

Ramit Sethi Ramit Sethi, used with permission

Since then, Ramit has leveraged his blog’s popularity to display ads, run profitable courses, and launch a best-selling book. I invited Ramit to do this audio interview to find out exactly how he grew his blog, inspired the kind of readers that begged him to sell to them, and monetized in a way that creates lasting value.

Here, I wanted to explain the specific strategies Ramit used to monetize IWTYTBR, and spans from his earliest trials with display ads, to his recent success with video courses.

If it’s not going to cover my rent, then why do I care?
– Ramit Sethi, on why he doesn’t use display ads any more

Ramit suggests a wholesome approach to making money from blogging, and that means starting by truly understanding the world of monetization. Research the options, try out a few of them, and realize that your first three or four attempts are probably not going to be the level of success you want. Your options include ads, products, speaking, consulting or coaching, and they each have both direct and indirect costs.

For example, despite Ramit’s friends at Google saying all his traffic was going to waste, he didn’t want the negative perception that comes with display ads. When his friends persisted, Ramit decided to survey over 1000 readers and asked if they minded him testing some unobtrusive ads. With 81% of responses being yes, he experimented and found ads only brought in a few hundred dollars every month. So he stopped using them—it just wasn’t interesting money. In Ramit’s words, “If it’s not going to cover my rent, then why do I care?”

I’ve always been a big fan of building value. Giving people 100 times before you even ask them for anything.
– Ramit Sethi, on building relationships with your readers

You know how some people are obsessed with SEO? Or getting the design of their subscription box just right? Or making their “buy now” button orange? Ramit’s obsession is providing so much value to his readers that they keep coming back for more. How do you create value with that kind of gravity? On a personal finance site, value means getting visitors to a post detailing step by step how to call their credit card company (with scripts and everything) that make their fees just melt away.

Ramit says when you show people how to get big results in a short amount of time, they become readers for life. How can you create that kind of value for your readers?

Honestly, that was one of my biggest fear moments in my entire blog career, because I was petrified of charging for content. I thought that people would not pay, and they would think I was selling out. I was legitimately afraid.
– Ramit Sethi, on how it felt to launch his first product

Maybe your first go at monetization will be a course, or an email subscription list, or affiliate links. Ramit did a collaborative ebook with a bunch of other bloggers, got it professionally designed, and called it Ramit’s Guide To Kicking A**. They sold it for $4.95. Sounds okay, right? A few vocal readers didn’t think so, and said things like “Ramit’s jumped the shark” and called him a sell out. Some of those readers even said they’d never come back to his site.

For $5.

Ramit expected to sell 100 copies in the first year. What do you think happened? He sold over 1000. That’s when he realized that people are willing to pay for value, despite the few outliers complaining about everything not being free. Ramit thinks of this as his turning point, “I realized there will always be people that complain and freeload”. Focus on providing great value for your real target audience. The readers who are engaged, willing to invest in themselves, and actively looking for solutions.

When the economy tanked in late 2008, nobody cared about investing. All they wanted to read about was how to save money.
– Ramit Sethi, on why he created a subscription product for money saving tips

Sometimes the information your readers are looking for isn’t what you usually write. Be flexible. Knowing that the world had recession on the mind, Ramit created a 30-day plan to save $1000. On day two the Wall Street Journal and MSN started writing about and linking to his series. With a huge influx of traffic, it was time to monetize.

Ramit’s friend Erica Douglass told him, “just make a subscription program, put it in an email, and have people sign up for one tip a week”. He called it The Scrooge Strategy and sold it for $8 per month. Hundreds of people signed up. What could you be writing about that your audience will pay for?

We collected 50,000 data points. So we know precisely what is holding people back, what is really helping them earn money on the side, and we used some very sophisticated psychological techniques to build a product that’s a leader in its space.
– Ramit Sethi, on how he developed a course about earning more money

Should you price your ebook at $9.99 or $14.99. It doesn’t matter. Make your products extremely detailed, and don’t show them to anybody. Visitors to Ramit’s site can’t even buy a product until they go through an extensive funnel – over twenty five pages. During those pages readers learn to identify a freelancing opportunity and find paying clients. Ramit says “I try to get them to make the cost of the course back before they even see the sales page.”

Another key is being really clear about who you want and don’t want as a customer. That’s right—there can be customers you don’t want. On IWTYTR, those people are the ones whose first question is “how much does this cost?” because they are obsessed with cost and not value. There are even people that Ramit refuses to sell to. He tells potential buyers straight out that if he finds out they have credit card debt he will refund their money, and they won’t be allowed to buy anything else.

Ramit’s ideal customer? Someone who says “show me three others like me who used your techniques to earn more money on the side”. Who is your ideal customer? How can you make your product pay for itself?

If someone came to me and said, ‘here is a really sleazy way to make $25,000?, I would turn it down in a second. If someone came and said, ‘send one email and I will give you $10 million’, I’d think about it. Everyone’s got a number where it gets really difficult.
– Ramit Sethi, on tempting offers

When you run a popular personal finance blog, all kinds of people want to pitch your audience. People selling investment products. People selling income opportunities. Don’t sell out. With IWTYTBR, Ramit isn’t building something that will just make money today, but that will be of incredible value tomorrow, next year, and 10 years from now. When you’ve worked so hard to build a relationship with your readers, there is no price you can put on their trust. Don’t sell out. It’s not worth it.

As we finished the “how to make money” part of our interview, Ramit shared one last thought. He told me “it’s important to think really long term, and think about your values. Do the right thing with your readers. Offer incredible value to your readers, and you will make more money than you can ever imagine.”

Repurpose your content

Last week I covered that you need to target content. Each piece of content that you write must have a specific purpose, if this is to draw in traffic, build your list, or be used as a link back to your Web site.

It may seem like you need a ton of content to achieve your goals, but each piece of content can be repurposed and used for any other purpose.

That is a few Rewrites to avoid duplicate content. You can write an article for an article directory, register for a link back to your site, and then you can make some changes and publish your site. You may want to expand on it so when a reader visits your site from an article directory to get a little more information than the original.

Another way to reuse content is to create a small report from several older blog entries. Browse through the categories and see how many articles that relate to the same subject and then put them all together as free report can give. Since it would be through older posts to use again, there may be additions that you would like to make on the report. You can add content with new ideas and to do some Rewrites.

You can give that to your readers on your list, or you can use to start a new list of targeted.

Another way to reuse content are creating videos or sounds from the material. Dig up some older material, just as you would to create a report, but can use it to create a video or podcast instead. Audio content is extremely popular because people can download the files to your ipod or smart phone and listen while you do other things.

If the video or audio, which is not in the list of Favorite things to do you can use the content, to create an ecourse or even a Squidoo lens where you can offer relevant enterprise products. This also create another income stream for you and is another source of repayment. Look for

Amazon products that relate to your niche and propose these readers. You can also use other affiliate programs inside a Squidoo lens too.

If you've been blogging for any length of time, chances are you have too much content that is already written. Going back through this content reuse for other purposes, or as a new product or ecourse is a great way to save time, especially when it is not possible to think of what to write then. Plus also keeps your content fresh and gives new life. Sometimes older content not found on your blog, because it is buried way back in the archives. This is great material, renew, use through and makes it easier for readers to find.

Writing of new content on your site should not be difficult, and it is not necessary to be time consuming. Spend a day looking through the old content and see if you can bring new life into it.

Your reuse and repurpose your content? What are some ways that you can give new life to your old content?

Learning Seo can make 100 K this year – here's how

For people who are new to seo, then I suggest you start here first, get the heads for all my seo content.

Open your ears

One thing I did after the first time that I discovered that it is possible to earn money on the Internet, is to educate myself about the whole idea of marketing. Ironically, the placing on the market that has taken me to the next level is the passion I have for seo. I do not consider myself an expert in seo, I'm just someone who was around in Google for over 10 years now and know how things work.

I will say only for seo experts are those who work for Google, when it comes to the Department that handles all the search criteria. These are the people who are experts, because everyone needed to achieve higher rankings without having to search. You can see not guess when it comes to seo because I have graded thousands of keywords, but simply that I don't know everything because I am not for a person working for them, so just going to teach the things that I know that it works.

So once you sit down and get the right training, seo, then you will be able to not only make money for yourself, but you can also gain thousands or millions using talent to help others ...

Installing a Biz

So I started the s. Coleman Marketing Group LLC because I would like a company where I can help rank other people when it comes to seo. My task is to go out and find individuals, small businesses or organization and help them dominate the market by helping them rank for targeted keywords.

I am in a position to do so, because I made a commitment to learn seo to help myself and plus helps businesses grow the batch. The question comes down to how you can do this and start making an easy 10 k to 15 k a month from the same things, I'm ready to teach you.

Now, I want to offer seo consulting and seo services, if you want to be able to earn money with those who want to learn and those who just need someone to do the job. Thus, the next thing to come to is the value that you want to charge for your services.

If you want to 100 k, then you should get to work quickly by creating your goals. One thing you should do is probably to charge about $ 1200 for seo services and maybe $ 300 to $ 500 for consultation with seo. Here are some very competitive prices if you want to be competitive in the market for seo.

Finding clients

You cannot make any money without clients, so here are two things you can do to make us buy your services. Your first can be placed in free workshops in local library like what I do and visit local businesses and had a flyer, explaining that it will give you a free 1 hr marketing workshop.

Here is where you can educate them about the power of seo and why they must apply to their site. Then you can call up any real estate in the city and let them know you do seo and see if you are interested in seo help.

Look ...These are only the tip of the iceberg of things you can do to bring in clients, but to break things that you will need to get clients to connect. You will need to obtain 50 different companies can come to your free workshop every month and be able to transform at least ten of them on client computers.

Now if all customers 10 come on who wants seo services ...then you can attract around 10,000 each month with ease. So if you multiply that by 12 months of the year, then set yourself as having a very profitable business. Now remember this is not a fact. This is only a simple strategy you can use if you want to learn how to make more money.

This guest post is by Chris Kahler of bloggeritus.com.

It doesn’t take a genius to stroll around cyberspace and quickly find that the World Wide Web is littered with junk. There is a lot of “stuff” out there, most of which isn’t very good.

On the flip side, though, there are still many amazing gems hidden beneath the rubble. The magical ingredient that marks the divide is creativity. Creativity isn’t just part of a fairytale that only children believe in. It really exists, and is the one thing that will polish you into a masterful blogger.

The gems you will find online are from the few bloggers who have found their own creative abilities and applied them masterfully towards the many processes that grow a blog. They have their own special style that everyone instantly recognizes.

“Run of the mill” is a term used to describe work done by others who try to imitate someone else’s style—their work becomes obscure and much less effective.

Originality is not attempting to be different, but rather doing what you want to do the way you want to do it. Originality is only effective when approached with creativity.

A blog is created through many small steps, wouldn’t you agree? Depending on how you approach them, these steps can either produce “run of the mill” results and put your blog in the pile of rubble, or they can produce results of original creativity and polish your work to be one of the few gems to be found.

Blogging is a medium thriving on the expressions of originality. Those who can create their own unique style stand out.

You create your own style by being creative with your content and unique with your presentation. The creativity in your content will act as your originality, and over time your style will resonate with people.

For creating a unique style you must quit following trends, trying to fit in with specific groups, or attempting to fit a personality mold you weren’t made for; rather, embrace the idea of creative imagination and flow where you really want to be.

When you become creative with your ability to express your thoughts, your style will carve a path of its own.

As you practice being creative many drastic changes will occur in your life. Here are some of the more noticeable changes creativity can bring:

Creativity can reduce stress (if you learn to enjoy it).It helps to unlock hidden potential in your brain.Creativity helps rejuvenate your vigor. It boosts your motivation. It will help you build and maintain stronger focus on what you need to get done.

Another main benefit, which in my opinion is one of the best, is the fact that you will actually grow to enjoy the process of creating. There is a fine line between work and play that produces the most efficient results toward any goal.

Creators of great achievements walk along this line.

They understand the importance of focused objectives yet are able to have fun during the time they spend “at work” getting them accomplished.

As you learn to be more creative you will grow to enjoy creating just for the sake of it. Results are just results and shouldn’t be the focus of your efforts.

It helps to provide real value when your overall focus is applied in the right places. If you have a goal in mind that you want to reach, by all means remember it constantly.

However, when you find yourself in the trenches trying to make the life you want to happen a possibility, don’t work with possible results as your main focus for inner drive.

Disappointment sets in when you work for results. But even worse, your work will be totally misguided due to the lack of controlled focus for direction.

Now if you have a dream, which everyone should, do keep it in the forefront of your memory; when you visualize your expectant life and realize certain things must initially take place for you to get there, you will understand what’s next—you must create those “certain things” to help you move forward.

This is what visualizing is for—to help you prepare yourself for the skills you’ll need to gain and to give you a direction to begin creating that dream.

As you create your way through the smaller incremental steps giving you advancement towards the dream, make those individual processes your sole focus.

Being creative will help to create a since of pride in you, yet the process of creation will always leave you humbled. The result of this is the constant urge to continue.

When you learn to enjoy the creative process and feel a great deal of satisfaction from your creations, that’s the birth of passion.

Creative passion is one of the most powerful driving forces for producing effective, high quality content in record time.

Furthermore, you will also strive to exceed any current “limitations”—this is just how the creative process is!

Applying creativity towards any kind of work you do will allow you to spark a new connection with what you’re doing, and your progress will grow positively.

No matter what side project(s) you are involved with, such as a blog project, some form of art you want to try out, or any other kind of objective—if you search out a creative aspect in it, you will see things in an entirely new perspective.

Creativity gives you flexibility without expectation. This gives you a full enjoyment for what you do.

As a creative blogger:

Rather than creating blog posts just for the rewards of blogging, you will find yourself stretching your limits to create the best post you can, just for the challenge of creation.

Rather than focusing on distant realities in your mind you will develop solid concentration on tasks that are enjoyable.

You’ll also begin feeling passionate for these tasks.

Also, a lasting impression for seeking creativity is the new mannerism developed for modeling the success of others.

Rather than seeing limits that seem to impose themselves on you when considering yourself in comparison with a notable leader, you’ll just see the distance as mere obstacles that you will overcome in increments … creative increments, that is.

The only steps separating you from the most established professionals are the many smaller and focused processes of creation, which have given these professionals every asset, tool, and skill they use to travel the path of achievement.

To become a more creative blogger is a very wise thing to do. However, it takes time and effort to establish and build a mind that leans towards creative thinking.

Here are the things you must do in order to be more creative:

You must be more positive with your outlook on everything. For any situation, try to find the positive aspect or potential outcome. This is key for creative people.Stretch yourself past what you may perceive as limits. There is a simple mindset to consider for doing this effectively. You need to learn this mindset in order to expand your own abilities.Observe any professionals in your field or niche. Try to discern what makes their work different. Whatever it is that gives them a pizazz comes from creative thinking.Master the aspect of innovation. By learning how to take an idea and improve it you not only give yourself room to expand the originality of your own ideas but also can benefit from observing the professionals you admire.Practice the habit of writing every day. Writing a journal is one of the best ways to initiate a creative spark. A lot of ideas come to us every day, but only those who discipline themselves to organize their thoughts in ways that can be referenced are able to hold on to the good ones.Learn how to be flexible. Allow yourself to take on new ideas, allow yourself to question your inner beliefs, but don’t change who you are for anyone. Flexibility just opens you up to new channels of thought and is not meant to make you have a different belief system, only a more acceptable one for good ideas.Learn how to experiment. Experimenting is the essence of creativity. When you do something that’s different than everyone else, you will not know how the results will be. Learn to do this and improve from it.Learn to accept criticism and how to give criticism. Find positive results either from yourself or others who critically analyze what you do is a great way to make improvement.Above all, enjoy the process of providing quality content to the rest of humanity. You will grow as a passionate person and will establish a lasting legacy on this planet if you can do these steps.

As you can see, creative thinking isn’t something you can expect to master overnight. There is a lot of information pertaining to our imaginations, most of which we have yet to discover.

According to what I’ve gathered from modeling success and acquiring new skills is that those who balance their thinking by relying more heavily on creativity than average people tend to stand out as above average.

These people are the ones who establish influence, trust, and higher levels of success using originality and boldness—both directly gained through creative thinking.

Unfortunately space is limited here, I like to keep my posts from turning into small novels! However, comments are a great way of continuing this discussion.

In what ways do you think you are creative already? How are you working to improve your creativity?

Chris Kahler has recently discovered the definition of a creative personality. He has also discovered that there are a million things still left unsaid which you should know about. Maybe subscribing to his RSS feed is a good idea? He thinks so, oh and while you’re at it follow him on twitter as well.

Laptops hang around.

There is always the need to throw the baby with the bathwater as regards technology. For example, now say reports, clock radios, sales are down, as people use their smartphones to enable them, and even MP3 player (so popular earlier) is now all but forgotten as the BlackBerry and iPhones sweep on the market.

However, there seems to be at least one bastion of world technology that appears stubborn, and this is the personal computer. Prosper Mobile Insights gathered some interesting statistics that all point to the fact the personal computer is so popular and firmly as the family dog. The recent numbers fielded by the company found that 56% of mobile customers continue to use their home computer with an Internet connection while holding and the mobile device.

It seems that one of the most difficult points is the nutritional value of the consumers of these mobile devices, but rather the cost of some of the projects of data involved. There are even reports that 4 G will see another spike in cost, at least temporarily. Still, it cannot be called into question the overall trend towards smartphone. Along with those people who turn away from things like traditional alarm clocks and GPS devices for smartphones, 44% of respondents reported use this in place of digital cameras. Still, at least for now laptops hanging around.

No latest news on Millennials — and that another research clearly highlights their shopping online more if there was a possibility within the limits of Facebook.  Almost 40% of this generation will use the said platform popular social media if offered more opportunities to shop and compare these figures with 26% of Gen Xers, and 16% of Boomers. The business needs to start. The move has been on for an hour now to THIS for some time now as it was a means to get the message about goods and services and the younger generation have something to say what they buy and how they buy. Here is another interesting statistic to examine. Forty-eight percent of this group saying they would prefer their favorite brands advertise on Facebook.

It seems that watching the trends developing continuously in the Internet is good, but having too much inventory at one of these when you're in the business must be dispassionate and careful approach. Remember that while mobile applications taking off and is social media the way younger people who want to shop, everyone seems to want to make sure you have a handy as Foundation home computer.

Readings – the newsreader which also allows you to follow your favorite authors

The buzz is spreading fast enough for readings, an online "community" for those who want to keep up to date with the latest news about various subjects such as Business, entertainment, photography, technology and Social Media. What is unique about readings is that it also allows you to follow your favorite authors. With the kind of brings to mind the readability, with a new reading service that has been built around it. After a full review of the service, he began to realize what it is about feelings and I must say that I really like the service.

Let's take a look.

The first thing you'll need to do is find some publishers to register. This is done through each category and then pick your Favourite publications. You can also use the search feature to find publishers faster. Frankly, I was interested only for all publishers, so I had to force myself to choose my top 10 picks only.

Subscribe to Your Favorite Publishers in Readings.

Then you can find and follow authors who write for the various publications listed under publishers. This is done in the same format as the above, and includes a search bar. When you subscribe to an Author, you can see all the articles you have registered on the Web with the most recent tweets. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any of my favorite authors here, so I just skip this section. Regardless, this is a really nice way for each author to get some free advertising and to increase their following.

Follow Authors on Readings.

After recording some publishers and your favorite authors since, it is time to read. The wonderful about reading is that this is very clean, but has many options to interact. For example, you can save items to read later, follow the author of an article that you really enjoy reading, or share on your favorite social site like Facebook, Twitter or Google +.

Along with saving items to read later readings, you can also use the bookmarklet to save articles from around the web. This is really a nice feature? I know I always read my articles later in the list, but never seem to get to read them. Adding them to my actual feed reader just seems more ideal, since it is using at least a few times a week, so I'm more likely to actually read the articles you save. Items that have been saved for later reading can be found under unread in the sidebar.

Use the Readings bookmarklet to save items to read later.

You can subscribe and follow your heart content without even signing for an account at readings, but you won't be able to save any of your settings or add any custom RSS feeds? Therefore, it is probably the best that you can create an account. You can connect to Facebook or to create a real account.

After you add custom RSS feeds, you can follow then as from authors and blogs. For example, 2 blogs I write for myself and readings that you added and then create a page author to me, well kinda – created by two different author pages for me even though my name is the same on each blog. Anyway, this is a great way to follow your favorite authors who do not have the privilege to read already on the system.

I love the Top Stories, because you can see the articles that downward trend now along with the top stories of the day, week and month.

Although you can click on each news source separately from the sidebar, you can also see at a glance from the news feed. Also gives you a glimpse of some of the stories of the vertex.

Readings News Feed and glimpse of Top Stories.

So with all these features and Nice clean environment, do you think is pretty good readings to replace the current feed reader? Currently I'm using Google Reader and I have here some years ago. Seems like every time I try a new reader, I end up always to return to Google Reader. In addition, now with the addition of Google +, just makes more sense to use Google Reader, since all the Google services are more tightly knit. I believe that we will try to read a few days, just to get a feel for it. If the sync with Google Reader.

What are your thoughts? What feed reader you use now is that you open by using a new reader?

Why your Blog is not making money

This guest post is by Moon Hussain of Experiments In Passive Income.

This post comes from the bottom of my heart.  After coming in like a cowgirl blogging newbie and failing with making money online with my blog, I have figured out what lead to my blog bringing in $0.00 most months.  To think I came into the blogging world with a typical “make money online” blog and with the mindset that I’d blow everyone away with loads of affiliate income rolling in was foolish.

Pay close attention, because what I’m about to reveal here has the power to make you a full-time income.  The stuff we both have been dreaming about.  Make notes. I want you to walk away with a plan.

If you don’t think that’s such a bad thing, that’s probably because you are a new blogger, probably less than six months into blogging.  Let me tell you: after a year of providing good content and not making money, you will come to a stop.

Churning out quality content two to three times a week takes a lot of time.  After plugging away for over a year, I can tell you providing quality content is not enough!

It’s only one part of the equation.

If what you are reading right now is bringing you down or you think it’s “too much work”, then stop wasting your money on hosting fees and kill your blog now.  If you want to make money with your blog, it’s about to get good.

I hope you said business plan, I really do.  Instead of lecturing you on how bad you have been by not having a business plan, I’m going to show you with a real, live case study:  my own blog.

In the last year, I never had a business plan for my blog.  Not a written one, anyway.  Here was my thought process over the last year: “I’ll build niche sites, blog about my experiences, I’ll make money from these sites, people love to learn how to make money so they’ll absolutely, feverishly flock to my site!”

Forget an internet entrepreneur … I’d be an internet rockstar!

In my mind, this was the ideal plan that was supposed to take place:

Seem familiar?  Yeah?  In all honesty, you should be scared.

That was my business plan.  Officially one and a half years into blogging, I am in the process of formulating a much more concrete business plan.  And now I cry looking at my old “business plan”.

Blogging about a topic, however passionate you are about the subject, does not make a business.  It is a platform that can help spread your expertise.  You can use it to connect with your ideal customers.  Here are some key questions you need to ask yourself:

How can I take my blog from “just a blog” to a blog that generates me business? What do I know about my blog’s main topic? How can I showcase my expertise about this topic? Why are people reading my blog? (Is it entertainment, education, a particular solution they are looking for)? How can I take the answer from question #3 and answer it with my expertise (question #2)? (Result: a product or service you can serve your audience).

Before you jump the gun, before you can do much with any of the above, you need to figure out the missing pieces.

Let’s backtrack a bit and work through the process…

For me, it happens to be my email list.  I have a super-tiny email list.  My goal is to increase the number of people on my email list and to help them resolve something that I have experience with.

Sure, they say it’s not the amount of people on your email list but the type of people on your list (whether they convert or not) that matters. I agree. But no one can say that having a good number of quality people on your email list is a bad thing.

These people are the ones who want what you may have to offer.  Your work, your services, your expertise, your products!  I know this isn’t a new revelation but stick with me.  Trust me when I say this, I’m ahead of 90% of you…

In case you are one of those stubborn bloggers, read the next few lines carefully.

Name three big bloggers you know.  I pick Darren as one.  How about the other two big bloggers you have picked. Do they have an e-mail list?  You bet your inexperienced butt they do! An email list is how Darren launches super profitable ebooks and courses and leverages his traffic.

If you haven’t picked up on the importance of having your own email list, the rest of this post is useless.

We have backtracked one step. But we have more work to do.  If all of this seems overwhelming, grab a piece of paper and pencil.  I guarantee you will have a comprehensive plan before you leave this page!

The so-called “blogosphere” has evolved and people (smart ones, that is!) are no longer willing to give up their email addresses just because you asked.  No sir!  The only way you’re about to get those email addresses is if you have something people want.

For example, if by the end of this post I have helped you by constructing a cohesive business plan for your blog, you’ll want to read more of my content. Because I helped you. Because you liked what I had to say. Because you want more.

And if you haven’t noticed, it’s not just one guest post I’ll be publishing to build my email list.  You should be seeing me around.  In other words, after you create a free report, you need to find big hubs where your ideal customers are hanging out!

Create a list of five big sites and blogs where your readers are.  Expose yourself (*ahem* with your unique posts) multiple times.

I’m doing the exact same thing right now.  I am exposing my content to new readers who don’t know me.  If you have “kind of seen me around”, then the more I expose my work, the more chances I’ll have of getting your attention.

It’s how all of the big bloggers roll; you just weren’t paying attention or think that your blog will surely take off after one of your posts “go viral”.  Hah!

What I’m discussing with you took me a year to figure out.  Ignorance isn’t bliss, apparently.  Here I have my sexy, newly defined business plan:

You can bet my plan is even more specific than this.  It may seem exhausting but this is precisely what you need.  In fact, I have goals written down for how many people will join my list in June, July, and August, and how much money I expect to earn in each one of these months.  I’m also in the process of designing my survey and constructing my consultation reports.

Before you leave, answer the following questions and construct at least a rough diagram of your business plan:

Do you have an email list?Do you necessarily need to grow your email list? If so, how exactly will you do that?  How many guest posts?  Start writing down guest post ideas. What kind of service or product do you want to offer?  What would you be excited to provide people with?Survey your growing email list. Can you come up with a service, membership site, or ebook that you have experience with?

Write down your answers.  Get super specific.  No one else can do this for you.  If you don’t do this, your blog is dead.

After you write down your answers, you need to create and stick with a plan.  Remember, if you want to earn an income from your blog, you need to treat it like a business and must have some sort of business plan.

Would you rather create your own detailed business plan for your blog … or leave it to lady luck to make your content go viral?  (By the way, in case you didn’t know, viral traffic like Stumbleupon doesn’t convert and sucks.  Sure, it’ll make you feel cool for a day or two but that’s about it!)

I would love to hear your business plans in the comments section. Bring it!

China and Google: freedom of speech battle continues

With everything that happens in the world today, you may have forgotten another small battle in the ongoing battle between Google and China. Can you believe that a country that is expanding rapidly its economic power, you might want to save the same problem that repressive forces in places such as Egypt and Tunisia have passed into the hands of the new technologies of the Internet in General and social media specifically, appears to be a hell, China tend to maintains the old ways.

Consider a recent news that reports only hours after Google + (the latest social media by the giantess) introduced in that country, was banned and joined the ranks of Twitter and Facebook. China, long known as the enemies of freedom of speech and email surveillance and Internet police force and other tools made some big showdowns cryptic. There have been still fresh allegations this year that gmail was hacked into by the Chinese. While many people seem to be missing the point.

Information technology in all its forms is a new way of doing things, including professional and if each country hopes to remain successful in this new world, we need to embrace technology, as well as freedom of speech that is a necessary companion to it. It is repressive as Chinese guarantees failure.

There are other interesting news, when it comes to Internet marketing, because, although some of these statistics will surprise. A new survey found that while 41% of consumers own a smartphone, email is still the most common way that people get the message in respect of the sale when it comes to mobile applications. Exact target examined the results of nearly 1500 consumers and found that e-mail still trumping, text messaging and even Facebook posting. This is not the first time the latest Johnny-Come-Lately the scene has been put back in place of the good old traditional email marketing. The argument can be made for social media and the like as a more direct way for people to get in touch and even sharing information, but it seems that to get information about goods and services for sale are still in the field of other technologies such as e-mail.

The survey goes on to report that the new generation of smartphone user is becoming more and more comfortable making purchases with the device and a full 40% would give up their laptop, than turn their smartphone.

This guest post is by Jenny Dean of Business Blog Writers.

You might have read my article about a business blogging platform called Compendium. Today, I wanted to share with you a fantastic Compendium tool called, Web to Post that allows customers or clients to tell stories about your products or services.

Web to Post turns your consumer’s advocacy into web content.

Of course, as Business Blog Writers, sometimes this writes us out of the picture, but at the same time, if we are used to supplement the Web to Post content, then we can also get a lot of content ideas from what customer or clients submit.

In addition to my blog writing business, I also have a Ragdoll cat blog and all images of Compendium’s Web to Post form come from that.

A Call to Action is put in the sidebar of the blog. The CTA usually says something like, “Share Your Story”.

This call to action can also be put on your Facebook fan page, in your newsletter, on your YouTube Channel or in an email to an existing database.

The customer sees the CTA and decides to submit a story. They click on the link and are taken to an online form that asks them things like their story title, the story, and their first and last name. They can also choose to upload a photo to include with their story. The forms are totally customizable to fit your campaign or story needs.

Once the stories are received, the administrator of the blog is sent an email letting him or her know there is content waiting in the system. The stories can be edited, approved or declined from there, just like internal blog posts on Compendium’s system. So in other words, the story isn’t instantly on your company website the second the customer or client hits “submit”. Rather, it has to go through an administrative layer for final approval. This is awesome, because it turns your advocates into your bloggers! [Share Your Story Submission on Dashboard.jpg]

Once the administrator has checked out the post and added a keyword rich title, then the admin approves it. At that point is the Compendium algorithm automatically categorizes or tags the story to the relevant, targeted keyword pages on your blog . The admin can also choose to promote it on your company’s social networks, like Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Then, the viral effect kicks in. Each story is published on your company’s blog, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn pages.

The customer who submitted the story also gets an automatic email that says their story has been published on your company’s blog. Another link encourages them to share their featured story on their own social network profiles.

Lee Jorgenson, an Account Manager at Compendium recently pointed out that Sears Outlet has generated over 5,000 posts in just three months by gathering content from five different channels.

Sears Outlet sends a great transactional email after someone purchases from their website that invites customers to share their stories. This email is timely and helps harvest stories while they are fresh in the customer’s mind. The email has a link that drives the customer to a web to post form to submit their story. They also use the Web to Post forms to capture stories from blog and website visitors. They also have one embed on their Facebook fan page tab and collect stories from Facebook fans that way.

The process is simple: Content ? Exposure ? Referrals ? Sales

Another Compendium client, The College Network, was able to launch a contest asking nurses to share their stories. The prize? An iPad. They received nearly 100 user generated stories (that’s 100 free posts!). The stories got over 40 comments and over 1,500 Likes. They drove 3,500 unique visits to their story page and tracked an average of 35 additional Facebook fans per day from the campaign. It also increased their organic search traffic by 25%—all for the cost of an iPad.

As far as my site, Floppycats.com, is concerned, Web to Post has made my life incredibly easier. When I run a giveaway, I tell people that for an extra chance to win the prize, they can submit a photo of their cat as well as a description explaining why their cat needs to win the product.

This approach not only generates more activity on my site, but also creates more content for my blog. And readers love to see photos of their cats on my blog!

I also use Web to Post for Ragdoll breeders who want to advertise kittens for sale. It saves me the time involved in uploading them to the site, and entering all the information—and they’re hosted on Compendium’s server, not the one I am paying for.

I also use Web to Post to accept content from people who need to rehome their Ragdoll cats, and cat rescue groups that need to get the word out about cats available for adoption.

I give a lengthy explanation of what I want (this eliminates time-consuming emailing back and forth between the poster and me) and provide examples so readers know what information they need to submit.

So while Web to Post is great for sales and boosting social media buzz about your company, for the blogger who wants an active online community on their blog, Compendium’s Web to Post can also make your life a lot less busy. Just say “no” to too much right- and left-clicking!

If you don’t have Compendium, you can probably still put something like this together, but it would require more manpower and coordination to get it done.

Frankly, I don’t like to spend my time on the technicalities and would rather have it right from the get-go. Compendium’s business blogging platform simply takes care of the strategy, process and technology so your business can focus on the content and stories.

How to engage with your readers to get more results

All you have to get traffic to your blog has not helped you?

Have you tried to promote your product to your readers, but it is difficult to progress?

Can be difficult to get feedback and social media shares in your blog posts?

If you answered Yes to one or all of the above questions then it's time to rethink your blogging strategy.

It is true, it should be your blog to get visitors who come on the market but we need to start thinking about the difference between getting and retaining visitors. Since there is no point in getting readers who do not take action or to stick on your blog, you'll need to start thinking less about marketing and more information about the visitors of moderation, and one of the best ways to make sure you get the best from the visitors to your blog is by engaging with them.

Everyone loves to participate, which is why news spread faster. There is a welcome contribution, particularly if it is from someone you so much for this because it will quickly go now if you can learn to engage with your readers by today. This blog post will give you some tips that will help you get more results by engaging with your readers.

Encourage the newsreader

If you've been in business for more than a day now we should know the importance of the call to action. A lot of things sound so simple, but you'll be surprised at how people. Send an e-mail message to your list will not necessary result on answers, but by telling your readers who want to hear from them can lead to more emails than you can reply to.

People know what to do, but sometimes they need external instructions to do so. When you write a new blog post you know you want to hear them every time you send an e-mail message to you know you want to hear from them every time you are in your favorite social media site to let your readers know that you are willing to hear from readers with their readers. Constantly interacting with you will begin to feel as if you already know and it will be difficult to let just like this.

The best way to encourage reader interaction is requested, so started calling today!

Time to be there for them

One thing that many of us bloggers fail to make available to our readers. The joke is that it seems so simple but it can be very powerful.

I recently read an article about Joe Girard at DailyBlogTips. Really enjoyed your article and retweeted, even if I did not tag Joe Girard to retweet you ended up answering and thanks for the retweet. That just won me over, and became a fan instantly.

People appreciate that exist for them that will start letting your readers know you care for them time to respond to their comments, reply to their emails, to thank and to interact with their favorite social media sites, and you can see how much of a significant impact that can make alone.

I appreciate the newsreader

You can also encourage reader engagement and interaction by examining your readers to engage with you and others on your blog. This can be done in many ways, which may include the carrying out of studies, and has a link at the top readers and sometimes even personally, e-mail readers know you appreciate their support.

I usually don't expect to appreciate them, and this is just the magic of this type. Make sure you let your readers know that you appreciate their support and involvement, and you will see how you can achieve with it.

Write articles that people want to read

A simple way to write articles that people want to read is to identify the problem that people in the audience are and provide them with answers that would help them to solve the problem.

People like to read things that represent them solve the problem. Articles that contain easy execution of activities always works well.

For example: three simple steps to Boost Your confidence or how to stop Your Dog Barking in four easy steps, or how to get more visitors to your website

Remember that next time when you write an article and will have a much easier time making the decision to write about and how to write them. And you can be sure that more people will actually read it.

Create a simple network of cooperation with Papyrs group

Papyrs is an easy to use tool for creating mini-site for group collaboration, team projects, multi-author blogs and things of that nature. It is a website and drop Builder with a focus on groups. If you are familiar with Weebly, then you understand exactly how it works and how easy it is to organize your pages.

Since Papyrs is currently in free beta there is only one record type, but this will change after the beta period is over. For now you can create up to 20,000 pages and have 512 MB of disk space to use.

"Paprus acts as a drag and drop your intranet to collaborate better with colleagues and customers. Easily share and collection of documents, notes, electronic forms, and much more. "

The signature is easy and actually kind of fun with the creative symbol form.

Papyrs sign up form.

The first thing to do is to create a page. This is done by clicking the "new page" in the menu bar. Your first page need not necessarily be your home page? You can choose which page is used as the main page.

Create a new page on Papyrs.

When you create your page, you can create a title, select who will have access to it, and set their permissions. In this way is kind of like sharing a document via Google Docs.

To edit your page, you click the "page" and then "edit page" from the menu bar. You can then add items to your page by dragging and dropping. While you are editing your page, you have the option to save as a draft or a published version.

There are many elements on the pages to choose from here: text box headers, images, media widget, text input, the input date input selection, user input, checkbox, input file input, navigation, debate, checklist and attachment.

Media Widget for Twitter, YouTube and Google content.

The widget media is quite useful, because you can add a widget, Twitter, YouTube or Google. You can also add custom widgets, pasting in the code (iframes and flash objects only). The checklist is also useful because it allows you to add to-DOS and tasks (check boxes are) very easily. When you create text, you can add basic formatting, and insert lists and links.

Papyrs text formatting bar.

Under settings there is a tab for "Theme" where you have an option 1 6 default themes or create your own. It is as simple as choosing the colors you want to use for each section (kind of like Twitter profile).

What you can do with a final networks? Of course, but also interact, anyone who has access to it to add their favorite and to subscribe to email updates, if desired.

Final Result - Completed Papyrs page.

Your team members will also have access to your profile page, and you must make sure that, as far as possible within the fill settings. This is also where you can add an image and change the alias.
