Share files and get 10 GB of free storage with less

Less is a very simple and minimalist online service with a focus on sharing. A couple months ago, I mentioned briefly at minus 7 Online tools for sharing files very quickly as a tool that allows you to quickly share files within 2 clicks. Since then, it seems that less has now evolved into a tool of Dropbox looks like a desktop app for dragging and dropping files in the service – for storing and sharing. Best of all, when you sign up you can 10 GB free space to store images, documents, music, videos and other files.

The desktop app is compatible with Windows, Mac and Ubuntu. While there are mobile apps for iPhone, Android and Windows phone 7. There are also 2 browser extensions for Chrome and Firefox.

When you try to connect to the Web site, this is the first thing I see is where you can manage your files. Adding files is as easy as dragging and dropping right on the Web page or by using the Send button at the top of the page.

Only can speak about the version of the Mac because at the moment is my main operating system. The app less lives with the menubar until you're ready to share or upload a file. To use, just drag and drop the file icon. You can also click the icon for more options, such as screen shots.

Keep in mind that you have real control over the highlights, it is not possible to resize, annotate or edit in any way.

Minus Window and TimelineBy the time you take a screenshot, or you can add a picture, the main window minus will appear with several options. Here, you can add a title for your file, be it private or public, to see how many views the item is received, you find a link for sharing, accessing your settings, and more. This almost serves as a dashboard on your computer, as opposed to the website.

If you would rather just less access from your browser, there are extensions for Firefox and Chrome. Operate much like the desktop version, unless you can't drag and drop files? Instead, you can use buttons or the right in the menu. You can choose to take a screenshot or upload a file from the icon of the browser. Alternatively, you can right-click any image and select "send to minus."

Minus Chrome Extension

While less can be used to store files, how you access your files is very different from Dropbox, is a virtual drive on your computer. Instead store your files online and access them from the "main window". Then, you can view the file on the website, to share and download if necessary. The disadvantage is that you must have an Internet connection to access your files at contrast with Dropbox.

Less is more of a social aspect, because you can share information about Facebook, Twitter and Google + and view the file can leave comments (via Disqus) and find a link or embed code to share. While Dropbox services as additional storage space (in the cloud) for your computer, less is more to save the file you want to share online with friends and family.
