How to Build Trust by Association

This guest post is by David Edwards www.asittingduck.com's.

When I started my site I had no idea about animation, illustration, or online marketing. It is nearly three years ago that the site went live, so by now I might have started University again (I quit in the first semester at the age of 20 years) and have an official qualification in one of these fields.

Let's say I did, and today I started with my website. I would still trust getting success by Association? Yes! The good news is, if you haven't got a degree and you want to run a successful website, there is nothing stopping you!

Even to this day people are intrigued to know how I managed to convince a small team of animators believe me to build a viral series around a few doodles I did on the back of a House Bill. This is how I did it, and how you can do something similar in your own niche.

From my entire high school years, as far as I know was the only pupil to leave and start a business partner of mine, Matthew Adams, who started Webfactore. That was the first rung on the ladder to success — a nice discount on the website!

Then I used the Facebook search box to hunt down an animator in Cardiff. Why animation? I drawing and I was fascinated by a viral animation from America called "Charlie the Unicorn." I thought it was amazing that a man and a few mates managed to millions of people to their cartoon — it is even the subject of a question about "Danger"!

Luke Hyde was the first animator that I found and he was glad to meet me. It was luck, really, if he was the first person I asked, and at the time that he had no contracts that must be worked. You can get lucky, but if you do not, continue to look for someone!

By Luke I tapped in a creative world I never been a part of.

I have always doodled and outlined — it used to help pass the time away when I worked in a job telesales. But I never knew that the people actually made money out of it. By Luke I met Flash animators, illustrators, sound technicians ... the list goes on!

When you start building an online business can feel the overwhelming and you tend to think that everyone seems to be more resourceful than you, and if you're an avid reader and the blogger, well, believe it or not, that is a very powerful skill to have, and you can trade that skill with other people to get what you need.

Even if you have patience and it shows you're not only going to sap one's sources and run, you'll have the chance to win the respect of the person and his or her circle of friends.

If you have a bit of success through Association get, keep going. I cemented links in the creative industry, than my sights on the marketing industry. Why? Because these guys are crushing, it exists when it comes to work ethic and connections. Five top affiliate marketers can reach out to tens of thousands of potential customers!

I did some more searching and eventually found Alex Jeffreys, who is well know in the affiliate marketing world, have several successful coaching programs launched. I talked to Alex on the phone and he was happy to help me. I have also attended his seminar in London, which is a great opportunity to meet other marketers, and Alex meet in person.

Alex has taught me some important points to quickly grow my online presence. Here are some of his tips:

Leverage of each stage you're at: If you are five people that you help online, that does not need
only five people! It would be 500 people, if each person a social network has 100 friends. For example, if your friends are with me on YouTube, and I found your video, I have 10,000 friends to share with. That is very powerful leverage! Not the market in the world: Alex has a very profitable company looking after his confirmed subscribers built. He very rarely reached out to the masses on Twitter or Facebook, as many of its subscribers the do for him.Consistently adding value: you should look at email a useful content once per month and build confidence. Go from a blog post, to an audio podcast, a video. Once people have a range of content more than six months or so, you will absolutely love them!

Many bloggers and website owners try to create and launch of products. There is a huge market and there are hungry buyers, but from my experience, you need a lot more focus on networks and connect with successful people, rather than locking yourself in a room until your ebook is complete.

Once you have established yourself with people in your niche and then interact with your prospects, you will have a much better idea of how loud your cash register ring goes!

Have you tried to connect with other website owners face to face? I would love to read your stories.
